Discover the treasures of Lotherton Hall Museum

person icon Lotherton

Visit Lotherton Hall Museum and discover the treasures of the Hall. Meet Florence Nightingale, be a Nature Detective, train as a nurse in the First World War or experience life as an evacuee in the Second World War. Inspire your pupils’ creativity an imagination through object handling and role play in a beautiful countryside setting.

All our workshops are curriculum and cross-curriculum linked, are hands-on and immersive. We adapt our workshops for pupils with SEND by working closely with you to differentiate for your learners’ needs.
Our workshops include:

EY and KS1

• Nature Detectives - With magnifying glasses at the ready, explore nature inside and outside the house. With mindful activities like yoga and crafts, it’s a great way to start the day with us.
• Lotherton Topic Days - We can tailor our workshops to meet your topic needs with planned activities and object handling. Ask us what we can do!
• Introducing Florence Nightingale - Meet the young Florence Nightingale, cousin to the Gascoigne family at Lotherton. Listen to her story as she embarks on her greatest job yet, help pack her suitcase ready for the Crimean War and practice first aid in her teddy bear hospital.

KS2

• The First World War Hospital - Pupils will train as First World War voluntary nurses in the different jobs needed to look after wounded soldiers and re-enact the role Lotherton played as a requisitioned hospital during the war years.
• WWII Evacuation Day - Evacuate your class back in time to the Second World War. Pupils will find out what life was like for children leaving home and ‘do their bit’ for the war effort.

Lotherton Arts Award
