What size groups do we cater for?
Group usually start at a minimum of 10 with no maximum group size. For primary & middle schools we work on a 1:10 free place for a teacher.
Access for visitors with disabilities?
Battlefield & History Tours will always try to assist to ensure inclusivity on any of our group trips. This is best achieved by discussing any special requirements from the initial inquiry. Sadly not all destinations are currently accessible but we will always advise on suitable alternatives or work arounds.

Battlefield and History Tours represent a highly specialized division operating both independently and as an integral part of Rondo Travel. The current director overseeing this division possesses an extensive background of over 15 years in this niche area of expertise. Each tour within this category is meticulously designed with a strong historical focus, often complemented by the presence of knowledgeable guides who accompany the group.
Our comprehensive services extend to providing tailored travel experiences to virtually any destination of your choosing. Additionally, we have dedicated personnel available to assist with research if needed. Our offerings encompass a diverse range of historical subjects, from Holocaust survivor talks and Last Post Ceremonies to visits to Concentration Camps and engaging in immersive dressing-up and reenactment experiences.
When exploring the Somme region, students will gain insight into the challenging conditions faced by various forces in the harsh climate of 1916, characterized by open fields exposed to biting winds and frigid temperatures. This immersive experience aims to foster a deeper understanding of the realities endured during that era. The Somme boasts an abundance of memorials, cemeteries, museums, and churches, each meticulously preserved to honor the memory and sacrifices of both soldiers and civilians. As part of the educational journey, students are encouraged to seek references related to individuals from their own communities or family members who may have a connection to the historical sites visited, subject to logistical considerations such as timing and location.
This unique opportunity allows students to appreciate that many of the soldiers who perished were of a similar age to themselves and faced extraordinary challenges. Furthermore, we offer the option to combine a Battlefield tour with visits to enchanting Christmas markets during the holiday season. Christmas market destinations may include Ypres, Brugge, Brussels, Arras, Amiens, and Lille, all situated within the Ypres/Somme vicinity. For those seeking to explore beyond this region, we can also arrange tours in Germany, Poland, or The Netherlands.
