Perilous Penguins - Balance the penguins as a team on the wobbly iceberg
Road Map - Make a continuous road from 20 pieces, with various corners, straight pieces, T-junctions and crossroads
Town Map - Students are to complete a jigsaw without a guide picture
Blindfold Fishing - Catch the fish while blindfolded, following only verbal instructions from teammates
Genius Square XL -Students must fit 9 different shapes inside a grid around the 7 blockers, there is ALWAYS a solution
Stacking Tower - Solve the word based number clues on each side of the cubes then stack the tower so the sum of each side matches the number at the bottom of the tower
Fabulous Fractions - Fill the four tubes with the different fraction pieces

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?
Maths Workshop
Shape Geometry Logic and Problem Solving Fractions
All of our programmes foster and improve Maths skills through Problem Solving. Logical Reasoning, Tessellation, Shape and Space are just a few of the skills covered in our Puzzle Challenge Day programme. Our other programmes cover topics such as Fractions, Weight and Logical Deduction. Mathematical Reasoning is vital to complete any challenge in our programmes. Codebreaking is central to our Escape The Smart House programme.
PSHE Workshop
Teamwork and resilience
All of our workshops are designed for groups to participate in. Teamwork and Perseverance are covered in all of our sessions and are common themes throughout all of our programmes. They are specifically compiled to improve Confidence and Self-Belief in many areas. You may find that lower ability students achieve similar to higher ability with our puzzles and games. Students must communicate effectively and include all team mates to complete the challenges in any of our programmes.
Team Building Workshop
Our workshops all have a section to go through teamwork. We delve deeper into the subject by discussing what aspects of teamwork will help the students complete our challenges. Communication, Co-Operation and Inclusion and how they can use these to achieve are the three main aspects we are looking to foster in our sessions.
What size groups do we cater for?
All of the workshops that we offer consist of between three and five sessions with up to 60 students in each session. In most cases, the structure of your workshop will enable up to 300 students to take part in a single day. Each student must only take part in one of the sessions during the day.
Access for visitors with disabilities
We have run many events in SEN schools and other institutions and our puzzles and challenges are all suitable for most disabilities.
Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
We have run many events in many different Special Needs settings. Our puzzles and games are all large and easy to handle. Our programmes are all versatile and adaptable to suit all abilities. Our highly trained and professional presenters are happy to work with school staff to make sure the programmes are adapted in a way to make sure that students get the absolute most out of the day.
Who are The Happy Puzzle Company?
At Happy Puzzle for Schools, we have been running events for 34 years. Originally starting out as hosting Puzzle Parties for children, one teacher booked us for a party and requested we come to their school to run a day. We haven't looked back since and have to date run over 16,000 events and reached over 2,000,000 students!
