What activities are available during group visits?

Newcastle has a rich offering of activities and attractions for children of all ages, some fun, some educational. We can support with on property activities in the evenings such as games night, movies, discos etc.

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?

Accommodation Only

Kabannas Newcastle has private rooms for teachers and dorm spaces for children 4 - 8 beds, all ensuite. We will aim to accommodate your group on the same floor or floors depending on the size. Please let us know how we can help you.

City Break

Kabannas Newcastle is the ideal location for schools wanting to take their children on a city break, we are close to attractions and activities. Hadrian’s Wall is a short drive away and make a great outdoor activity for children of all ages.

The Life Science Centre, Newcastle Castle and the Victoria Tunnels Tour are all very popular activities for school groups.

Kabannas Newcastle is a ten minute walk to Newcastle Castle and Newcastle Cathedral both fantastic options for teachers looking for sites relating to Medieval history.

Carliol Square is built on what was once the east section of the medieval town wall.

Local History

Kabannas Newcastle is based in Carliol Square. The Square was built by what had been the east section of the medieval Town Walls between Carliol Croft Tower (aka Plummer Tower) and Austin Tower. Carliol Square was the location of Newcastle Gaol (prison), built 1828-1925.
We are a ten minute walk to Newcastle Castle and Newcastle Cathedral and a forty minute drive to Hadrian's Wall.

Kabannas Newcastle is a 40 minute drive to Harians Wall.

Hadrians Wall is a former defensive fortification of the Roman province of Britannia, begun in AD 122 in the reign of the Emperor Hadrian.[1] Running from Wallsend on the River Tyne in the east to Bowness-on-Solway in the west of what is now northern England, it was a stone wall with large ditches in front and behind, stretching across the whole width of the island.
