Carliol Square is built on what was once the east section of the medieval town wall.

Kabannas Newcastle is based in Carliol Square. The Square was built by what had been the east section of the medieval Town Walls between Carliol Croft Tower (aka Plummer Tower) and Austin Tower. Carliol Square was the location of Newcastle Gaol (prison), built 1828-1925.
We are a ten minute walk to Newcastle Castle and Newcastle Cathedral and a forty minute drive to Hadrian's Wall.

Kabannas Newcastle is a 40 minute drive to Harians Wall.

Hadrians Wall is a former defensive fortification of the Roman province of Britannia, begun in AD 122 in the reign of the Emperor Hadrian.[1] Running from Wallsend on the River Tyne in the east to Bowness-on-Solway in the west of what is now northern England, it was a stone wall with large ditches in front and behind, stretching across the whole width of the island.
