Rockley Watersports

Residential Trip Residentials South West

trip icon Established in 1976, Rockley is a family-run business led by husband and wife team Peter and Lis Gordon and assisted by some of the country's most experienced and qualified staff!

Our all-inclusive trips to Buddens Activity Centre are a great way for your pupils to learn outside of the classroom. A Rockley Adventure trip can benefit from sunny weather, beautiful surroundings and plenty of fresh air, to which we add our fantastic multi activity or specialist activity programmes. Our centre teams have the equipment, experience and passion to deliver a programme that is packed with variety, adventure and rewarding activities. Whether that be learning to kayaking, rallying down the zip wire or aiming for glory with a bow and arrow, our activity programmes deliver on key skills and social, physical and emotional development - we have something for every child to achieve and enjoy learning in our very own "Rockley Classroom".

- A Residential Adventure

Residential activity trips provide an opportunity to gain experience of living away from home and the chance to develop key personal qualities such as self-reliance and increased independence.

A trip with Rockley means getting the most out of outdoor living, with ‘alfresco’ meals, plenty of fresh air, space and freedom to relax. Pupils are grouped in their accommodation according to their age and gender. Staff, pupils, and accompanying adults all eat together in our communal area, which provides an ideal opportunity to socialise.

Who are Rockley Watersports?

Our newest Activity Centre lies in the heart of the historic and beautiful Isle of Purbeck and Jurassic Coast, boasting 96 acres of natural countryside, heathland, woodland, and plantations. Buddens Activity Centre offers school groups the opportunity to explore the natural environment and take part in a once-in-a-lifetime activity programme in a stunning setting.

Buddens Activity Centre is ideally located for all your trip requirements. It is the perfect adventure playground with acres of space to explore the outdoors. If you are looking for that ultimate adventure, Buddens is the perfect fit for you. With so many outdoor activities to try, there is plenty of scope for young people to display leadership, teamwork, resilience and passion. Equally, the beautiful surroundings of Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Studland Beach, make it ideally located for a curriculum-led Geography or Science residential trip.

Within the centre’s vast array of camping fields, we have some idyllic tented villages. These are ideal for your group (both staff and pupils) and provide additional comforts.

Want to try your own camping experience and pitch your own tents? We have the space and ability to run your activity programme to suit those needs too.

Tented Villages
Our tented villages consist of 5 – 6 metre bell tents for pupils and adults. They come complete with comfortable mattresses, so all the hard work has been taken care of.

There is also a group marquee with tables, benches, fridge freezers and lighting to ensure you have an inside communal space throughout your stay.

With space for over 340 pupils and adults, our tented villages are a great experience for your next activity trip.

Pupils will require a pillow and a sleeping bag/duvet. As simple as that!

Buddens Activity Centre also has several toilet and shower buildings, including a separate toilet and shower for disabled use.
