One Day is a forward-thinking creative education company, connecting children and learning with creativity and imagination. In this drama workshop, you'll be joined by a facilitator to explore two geologic phenomena: earthquakes & volcanoes! Hundreds of earthquakes shake the earth every day. Meanwhile, boiling hot lava erupts from volcanoes around the world. But what causes them to happen? How do humans protect themselves? It's time to harness your performing arts skills and find out!

In this Earthquakes and Volcanoes workshop, your class will have the opportunity to express ideas and feelings through voice, movement, role play and drama. In addition, they will:
Explore the key aspects of the physical geography of volcanoes and earthquakes
Examine current natural disasters and significant historical incidents
Discuss what life would be like if natural disaster occurred in your area

Physical Geography Workshop
Volcanoes Earthquakes Natural Disasters
During the course of the workshop day, our drama facilitator will guide your class through exploration of the various myths behind Earthquakes and Volcanoes, the science behind why they occur and the human experience of when they occur.
Performing Arts Workshop
All our workshops use drama, dance and/or movement to stimulate learning and capture children's imaginations. Our team of performing arts professionals have a range of activities up their sleeve to ensure your chosen topic is as accessible and engaging as possible for your pupils.
We also make sure to tie in key curriculum objectives linked to your chosen topic. Our extensive range of school workshops cover History, STEM, Geography, World Culture, PSHE and more.
Physics Workshop
Discover the physical phenomena of earthquakes and volcanoes in this creative Science/Geography workshop for KS2. What causes earthquakes and volcanoes to happen? How do humans protect themselves? What's the science behind their process? Let's find out.
What size groups do we cater for?
We can deliver workshops to up to 4 classes in a school day, depending on the type of workshop and age group of the classes involved. Each session caters for a maximum of 35 children.
Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Absolutely! Drama is a wonderfully inclusive way for children with SEN to access learning. Please let us know of any specific needs or requirements before your day and we can adapt our sessions to fit.
