School Ski trips to the Italian Dolomites
Inspired TravelHave you ever considered skiing under the azure skies of the Italian Dolomites? Amanda from Inspired Travel gives us some insight into a beautiful location that is sometimes overlooked when booking a school ski trip...
Located in the north-east of Italy the resorts are easily accessible by a good motorway network or a selection of airports for those who prefer to fly.

While there are numerous up-market resorts, the region does not have to be the domain of affluent visitors but offers a selection of resorts ranging from the chic to the traditional, always with a friendly, warm welcome; they are ideal for school groups.
Resorts such as chic Madonna di Campiglio offer a wide range of skiing for all abilities and 150km of tree-lined, groomed pistes to enjoy; it is also linked to Folgarida-Marilleva which although slightly smaller offer 105kms skiing in a compact area with terrain for all. If its early or late season skiing that you are looking for then look no further than Passo Tonale at 1860m and a glacier with skiing to almost 3000m and 100kms piste, while not far away is the traditional resort of Folgaria, a resort that is excellent for beginner-intermediate groups and where it is possible to ski the adjacent resort of Lavarone on the same ski pass.

Across the region, hotels are of a good standard and the ski schools offer excellent tuition so that progression is good and the skiing experience is fun. The resorts have a wide selection of slopes from above the tree-line to wide runs snaking though the trees, that are well prepared and maintained throughout the season.
Simply put, The Dolomites is a fabulous destination for school groups and offers something for all!
