What are Ski Clubhotels?
SkiBoundEllie at SkiBound took some time to help us understand what a Clubhotel is, and how staying in one may be the best option for your next school ski trip.
Hello Ellie, so for teachers who may be new to ski trip planning, they may have come across the term, 'clubhotel'. Can you briefly explain what a clubhotel is please?
"Clubhotels are 100% owned and operated by SkiBound, so they are fully-geared towards school groups and what suits them - from meals to evening entertainment. We hand-pick staff (all of whom are DBS checked) with the best understanding of what a school group needs from their trip to make it an unforgettable experience.

In what ways do clubhotels differ from regular hotels and in what ways are they ideal for school groups?
"Because SkiBound have full control of all the elements that make up a Clubhotel, we apply our expertise of school skiing to make our groups' stay as excellent as possible. For example, we know safety is a key concern for group leaders, so our Clubhotels are secure, with code-lock doors and staff available 24 hours a day.
Taking a large group to do ski hire can be a big task, so to make life easy our Clubhotels all have in-house ski hire, to get everyone geared up quickly and painlessly!
Where are your clubhotels located? Do they allow school groups to maximise their time on the pistes?
"All our Clubhotels are located just metres from the slopes! Our two Clubhotels in Les Menuires give access to the epic Three Valleys region; you can ski right past the door of the Piolet and the Skilt's sun terrace offers some of the best seats in the house!
Can schools take advantage of any evening entertainment at a clubhotel? Or do they have to travel into resort?
"We offer fun evening entertainment options in-resort, and the Clubhotels all benefit from being centrally located, so there's rarely the need to travel far, or even leave the hotel! Some of our favourite evening activities in the Clubhotels are the mountain luge in Les Menuires, a pizza night in Serre Chevalier or ice skating in Alpe d'Huez! Although if you've got something specific in mind, we'll be happy to accommodate it.
How about the food, are we talking bed and breakfast, or is catering a part of what a clubhotel can offer?
"We offer full-board catering with groups returning to the hotel restaurant at lunch time for refuelling and a chance to have a rest in between lessons. You can expect to see lots of children's favourites on the menu, with all dietary requirements catered for - just let us know before you arrive, and we can be fully prepared.
