In London, history becomes tangible, geography visible, and art and literature gain depth when students encounter themselves standing in medieval squares that inspired Shakespeare's sonnets or Harry Potter's adventures, encountering artifacts in the British Museum, or following the River Thames as it reveals centuries of trade and cultural exchange. Your residential trip to London can foster critical thinking and cultural awareness, helping students understand multiple perspectives and global interdependence. Nothing replaces the power of being there: seeing, feeling, questioning, and discovering beyond the classroom.
Our highly flexible educational trips are designed by experts in close collaboration with teachers to ensure learning objectives, group needs, and budgets are met. Our programmes balance purposeful learning with time to explore the city together, and can include STEAM-complementary experiences that highlight the intersections of history, culture, science, and technology. Most importantly, learning while having fun is guaranteed!

What size groups do we cater for?
We can welcome groups of any size to London, though larger groups may need to be divided into smaller groups for some of the planned activities.
We offer one free teacher place per 10 students.
Access for visitors with disabilities?
The majority of the planned activities are suitable for students with disabilities, though some changes to the planned itinerary may be needed depending on the nature of the disability.
Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We welcome all students on our trips, though please discuss any specific needs when enquiring about the trip so we can work with you to design an appropriate itinerary.
Anything else?
All our trips are fully adaptable. We can create shorter itineraries for schools travelling from within the UK, weekend trips to London, include visits to nearby areas, or tailor programmes with a blended focus, combining learning in history, art, literature, and geography with sightseeing or experiences linked to other disciplines such as computer science, biology, innovation, AI, and engineering.
London can be expensive, so we are happy to make adjustments to suit your budget. For example, some of the activities can be replaced with cheaper options, costs can be saved by using public transport instead of a private coach, and students can be accommodated in hostels instead of hotel rooms to maximise the value for money on a London trip. If your teachers know London and are comfortable getting from place to place, we can also run this trip 'self-guided', where your teachers are taken through the plan before departure and provided with everything they need to lead the trip without one of our guides.
Who are Think Outside The Classroom?
Think Outside The Classroom specialises in educational and scuba diving trips. Trips are planned, organised, and often guided by people who are passionate about each discipline (e.g., computer science, technology, robotics, AI, history, geography). We have carefully selected venues and activities in the itinerary based on relevance to topics in every field, and can provide educational resources to enrich your students' learning experience. It is also possible to customise further depending on your interests and needs.
We look after all the small details in London on your residential trip, beyond the activities planned on your itinerary, as the overall experience is very important to us. Whether this be coffee for the teachers on your trip or reacting to changes in the weather with alternative activities, you can relax as we take care of everything.
We work with all the top School Travel Tour Operators, offering a huge range of inspirational trips, tours and expeditions, whether you are looking for a short hop over the channel to France, or a multi-week trek on the other side of the globe, use our tailor-made trip form and we can help you find the perfect overseas trip for your group.
