Which Curriculum Subjects do we cater for?

Cultural

Gambian culture is a vibrant tapestry of music, dance, storytelling, and traditional ceremonies. Students can witness these traditions first-hand, from the rhythmic drumming and energetic dancing of the Kankurang performances to the intricate art of Gambian storytelling.

Geography

The Gambia is a developing nation, making it a valuable case study for students learning about development geography. They can explore topics like agriculture, infrastructure, and resource management, observing how these factors influence the landscape and people's lives. The Gambia also offers a unique opportunity to experience a variety of geographical features in a relatively small area. Students can explore the stunning coastline with its sandy beaches, lush mangroves, and the Kajabang River.

Religious Education

While Islam is the dominant religion in The Gambia, there's a Christian minority and indigenous beliefs present as well. Students could explore the concept of religious tolerance and interfaith dialogue by visiting mosques, churches, and learning about local traditions. The Gambia offers a chance to see Islam practiced in a different context than students might be familiar with. They could learn about the unique blend of Islamic traditions and African cultures.

Community Projects

The Gambia is known as the "Smiling Coast" for a reason. It's a friendly and welcoming country with a strong sense of community. This makes it a great place for students to connect with locals and learn about their culture. The Gambia is one of the poorest countries in Africa. There are many communities in need of assistance, which provides ample opportunities for students to get involved in meaningful projects.
