During this expedition, you and your students will make a difference in the local community and get immersed in the Tanzanian culture.
Projects Abroad established the project for Maasai children around a decade ago, and we are constantly striving to improve the children's learning and physical environment. To contribute to this long-term initiative, your group will work on renovation and improvement projects with the community and our local team. You will also have the opportunity to engage with the children directly by organising educational and fun activities for them.
During your stay in Arusha, you will be introduced to the customs and traditions and will join dancing and cooking classes to understand the Maasai culture and way of living fully.
At the end of this project, you will go on two safaris to observe the incredible Tanzanian biodiversity. You and your students will witness iconic species in their natural habitat, such as lions, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, leopards, cheetahs, and much more. You will get the chance to improve your wildlife identification skills in addition to capturing magical photos.
You will then go on a different kind of adventure and learn survival skills as you go on a three-day trek and end your journey in Moshi. There, you will be able to relax and enjoy some self-care time by visiting the geothermal Chemka Hot Springs.
This programme is set in a beautiful setting and will give your students the opportunity to make a difference for the Maasai children, as well as discover the incredible nature of Tanzania and challenge themselves.

Who are Projects Abroad?
Projects Abroad arrange challenging, meaningful, educational, and safe overseas service and internship programmes.
We have been taking students overseas since 1992 and work in over 20 developing and emerging countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Key to our work is the dedicated in-country staff whose diverse skill sets, local knowledge and love of their community allow us to develop relevant, immersive and worthwhile schedules for school trips which give the students responsibility and teach them to see the world through a different lens.
We offer programmes in community development, conservation, construction, education, sports, empowerment, human rights, and healthcare, among many others. These projects are designed to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, broadening the student experience to see the contribution of a few to a movement for global change.
All school trips are individualised. We realise that each school has its own goals and interests, and the students have their own passions. We work with the school to develop a tailored itinerary that reflects their values and allows the students to make a connection with the community in which they serve.
