Tailor your trip
HistoryAs you tour around Normandy, you'll also get to visit plenty of local attractions and historically significant sites in the region. These might include seeing the Bayeaux Tapestry, visiting Honfleur Harbour, touring the Château de Falaise and wandering the unique location of Mont St Michel. You might also take the opportunity to take in numerous locations that were significant across the Second World War, or which commemorate significant events and locations, such as the D-Day landing beaches, the Arromanches 360 Cinema, Sainte-Mere-Eglise and St Lo.
LanguagesAlongside French lessons during your tour, your students will also be encouraged to engage with the locals and use their French language skills during cultural visits. These might be visiting a goat's cheese farm, touring a traditional French chocolatier, shopping at local markets, or buying delicious treats at a boulangerie. Depending on their level of French, you can tailor these visits to match with your desired learning outcomes so that you can track their progress throughout the trip.
CulturalWith prior knowledge to booking, we can arrange a tour that takes into consideration any students with special educational needs.
At Equity, we believe there is no better way to learn a language than by visiting the country in which it is natively spoken, interacting with locals and learning the cultural customs. Students can immerse themselves in French language and culture in Normandy.
Normandy is a very popular trip for MFL students and with our French language itinerary they will be given the opportunity to learn about cultural traditions and can even taste frog’s legs or snails! French lessons can take place at the chateau and opportunities to practice these language skills are plentiful whether that be at the farmers' markets, a working bakery in the local town, or a goat’s cheese farm.
