Sorrento and the Bay of Naples provide a stunning backdrop for any food technology trip. From the takeaway shops of Roman Pompeii to the production of olive oil and mozzarella cheese, add a cookery class and you have the ingredients of a great trip.
At Inspired Travel we aim to offer well-designed and inspiring learning experiences for our groups, be they large or small in number, together with a personal service, professional and flexible style from the first enquiry to their return.
Our itineraries are bespoke and tailored to an individual group; nothing is "off the shelf" although some follow common themes. As such your itinerary is as individual to you as it is to us and we are happy to try to accommodate all requirements.
Our tours are based in and around Sorrento where there are blue skies and warm days for much of the year, making it an ideal place to visit throughout the year. There are numerous learning opportunities that will enthuse and motivate students; from factory visits to see the stages of olive oil production, a visit to a traditional farm that makes mozzarella cheese each day, a visit to a pasta factory and a visit to Pompeii will throw light on Roman bakeries and fast food takeaways - there is much to enjoy. No trip would be complete without a visit to a Gelateria for a tour and tasting and there is the opportunity to enjoy a cookery class that is either lunch or dinner of the day.
Outlined below is a popular 5 day itinerary that can be adapted to be shorter or longer to suit individual preference.
Day 1 - Morning flight to Naples. Transfer to hotel with a visit to a pasta factory on the way. Guided tour of Sorrento centre.
Day 2 - Drive to a buffalo farm to see the mozzarella cheese making process and tasting. Return to Sorrento to visit a traditional farm to compare the method of mozzarella production and olive oil. Free time in Sorrento.

"As a school who have been going to The Manor House for more than fifteen years, I would have no hesitation in recommending others to visit. As we go out of term time, the trip is voluntary for our Year Six pupils. The uptake is normally about 90% of the year group and this in itself speaks for the popularity with both parents and pupils, who have great confidence in The Manor House and the excellent service provided. As with all outdoor activities, safety is a major priority. The Manor House Team take this seriously, ensuring that all pupils are given a thorough briefing before undertaking any activity as well as monitoring the pupils closely during the activity. However, they don’t forget the importance of having fun as well and achieve the balance between these two effectively. Pupils come back more independent, having tried new activities that may not have been within their comfort zone. The confidence they gain from being away from home, but within a nurtured and safe environment is very clear to both staff and parents alike. A quote from a pupil who went last year – ‘The trip was a great way to make new friends and to build confidence – the best school trip I have ever been on.’ "

"I have been organizing school residential trips to the Manor House for many years. As a school leader my priority for the pupils I take is ensuring their safety whilst providing an experience which is genuinely enriching, challenging and fun and without exception the Manor House delivers on this. Parents and pupils alike year on year rave about the experience and the positive impact it has on personal development. "
