Our workshops are a great way of bringing the curriculum to life without the hassle of organising a school trip! During our WW1 Trenches workshop, your children will have the opportunity to experience and learn about:
- A reconstructed WW1 support and front line trench
- The role of a medic during WW1
- Some of the weapons used during WW1
- What life was like inside the trenches
In addition to learning all about the WW1 trenches, your pupils will be encouraged to put themselves in the position of a soldier during WW1 and to express what feelings and emotions come to mind.
Following on from this workshop, your pupils can write a letter home from the front line based on what they've learned about daily life and conditions in the trenches. Our literacy bundles include lesson plans, example texts and LKS2 and UKS2 writing checklists.

At PrimeVR, we understand how difficult it can be to inspire children with their writing. We aim to create excitement by virtually transporting pupils into WW1 trenches! Not only will we provide your class with exciting facts about what life was like inside the trenches but we'll also provide them with an experience to ignite their imagination. PrimeVR can bring your history topic to life by transporting your class into some reconstructed WW1 trenches! Using virtual reality headsets, we'll introduce your pupils to the conditions inside the trenches, as well as the different weapons used by the British Army and the uniforms they wore.See the difference between a front-line trench and a support trench. Your pupils will also be introduced to a range of new weapons that were introduced during the war, including some of the first-ever tanks!
What size groups do you cater for?
In line with government guidance, we can deliver a maximum of six workshops throughout the school day with a maximum of 15 pupils in each workshop.
We bring in 16 headsets and each pupil will have their own during the workshop. Each headset will be cleaned thoroughly with anti-bacterial wipes in between each use.
We recommend workshops lasting a maximum of 30 minutes.

Yes. We've worked with a number of SEN schools and the response/feedback to VR has been fantastic.
