Digital Resilience: Thinking Clearly in an Online World is a practical, interactive workshop designed to help pupils make more deliberate and responsible choices in an increasingly digital environment.
Young people are exposed every day to social media, gaming, group chats, influencers, online trends, algorithms, AI-generated content and large amounts of information.
The aim of the workshop is not to tell pupils that technology is bad.
It is to help them understand how digital environments can influence what they think, how they feel and how they behave - and to give them practical strategies for making more independent choices.
Through age-appropriate discussion, scenarios, digital decision-making activities and guided reflection, pupils explore topics including:
- social media and online influence;
- peer pressure in digital spaces;
- online comparison and unrealistic lifestyles;
- influencers and persuasive content;
- misinformation and unreliable information;
- AI-generated content;
- online conflict and impulsive reactions;
- thinking before posting, sharing or responding;
- managing attention and digital habits;
- knowing when to seek help from a trusted adult.
Pupils are introduced to The Life Dojo's 3 Cs - CALM, CALCULATED and COURAGEOUS - a simple framework for pausing before reacting, questioning what they are seeing and making more deliberate choices online.
The workshop is suitable for KS2, KS3 and KS4, with content and scenarios adapted to the age and maturity of the group.
Teachers choose this workshop because it goes beyond traditional online-safety messages. Pupils are encouraged to think critically about how technology influences them and develop greater confidence, awareness and personal responsibility in how they use the digital world.
