Essex Outdoors Mersea School Trip

Some of the most important things a student learns at school happen away from the classroom.
Your students will take part in activities led by qualified instructors, from kayaking and archery to paddleboarding and land-based challenges. It's hands-on from the moment you arrive.

What students get out of it:

• A chance to try something unfamiliar to see how they handle it

Each activity links back to outcomes you can point to, such as teamwork, communication, resilience and leadership. Tell us what you're aiming for - a Year 7 bonding trip, PSHE-linked residential or a focused study break pre-GCSEs.
For residentials, choose from our residential centre, Colne or Blackwater cabins or a mixture of cabins for staff and tents for the students depending on budget and what suits your group. All meals are provided and dietary and allergy needs are handled directly with our catering team ahead of your visit.

We work to 1:10 staff ratios (with one free leader place per ten children), adjusted where an activity calls for closer supervision. If a student has additional needs, whether medical, social, or behavioural, let us know and we'll talk it through with you. We want your programme to work for everyone in the group.
