Voulez-Vous Workshop

Language Fiesta Theatre in Education

School Workshop

trip icon Voulez-Vous is a hilarious and fully-interactive theatre workshop for schools! The actors speak exclusively in French throughout the show, allowing all pupils to immerse themselves in the language. There are loads of fun and interactive parts to the show, including a 'showbiz-style intro', a game show, and geography and history lessons. The show can be presented as an assembly (for up to 300 pupils, lasting 30 minutes), or a workshop (for up to 60 pupils, lasting 75 minutes), and is perfect for KS2, but can be adapted for younger and also students, including those with SEND!

Where we travel to

We can visit your school in: All UK Regions

What activities are available during this school workshop?

Voulez-Vous is modelled on a TV holiday programme, including a hilarious game-show: a competition to win a family holiday. The show includes with travel surveys, ad breaks, time checks, and catchphrases.

Versions of Voulez-Vous have been frequently presented with great success for all key stages and for Special Needs schools:

For EYFS/KS1, the show includes a 'geography lesson', where parts of the audience become different regions of France.

For KS2 there's also a quiz, and for KS3 and 4 the session becomes more of a culture show: café life, fashion, Paris monuments, and the French Revolution.

Levels of fluency within the same Key Stage vary hugely from school to school. The actors are brilliant at adapting to the level of each group, both encouraging and stretching language use. Teachers and pupils are often amazed at how every group manages to enjoy themselves entirely in French for more than an hour!

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

green tick Languages Workshop

Voulez-Vous is the perfect way to complement your French teaching: it is fully interactive and encourages all pupils to join in, either through listening or joining in and speaking! The actors speak no English throughout the show, so it is completely immersive too! There is some geography, history, food-related vocabulary, family terms, and discussion about France, but most of all it is a language-immersion workshop, so is ideal for language learning!

What size groups do we cater for?

Maximum is 60 for a workshop, or 300 for an assembly show.

Access for visitors with disabilities

The show is performed on the same level as the audience, meaning that it is fully accessible and we can adapt where necessary for any specific needs.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We can change the way in which the show is presented to suit all needs. There are a lot of visual aspects to the show, so those with hearing difficulties would still be able to get something out of the show, and vice versa for those with visual impairments!

We have performed in SEN schools in the past with great results, so are happy to adapt our show to whatever your students need.

Who are Language Fiesta Theatre in Education?

Language Fiesta was formed in 2025 by Tom Brain. Tom is a Theatre Director and Facilitator based in London who particularly loves making theatre as inclusive and accessible as possible! He also studied French and Spanish in his undergraduate degree, and therefore bringing theatre and languages together is his ideal job!

Our show Voulez-Vous was first created by Big Wheel Theatre. Tom started working for Big Wheel in 2022, then when founders Roland Allen and Jeni Williams retired in 2025, Tom formed Language Fiesta so that Voulez-Vous could carry on. We are incredibly grateful to Jeni and Roland for allowing us to carry on performing their work!
