Our Quidditch workshops are a fantastic way to get children active, whilst opening up their imaginations as they fly on their broomsticks, score goals with the Quaffle, disrupt opponents with Bludgers and even attempt to catch the Golden Snitch!
We can visit your school in: London & South East, East of England, South West, Wales
English WorkshopIf you're studying about Harry Potter or the Wizarding World during your English lessons we can give a hands on, immersive experience to really bring the story to life. Take part in our Quidditch sessions and become one with the story as your pupils zoom around on their brooms, scoring goals with Quaffles, disrupting opponents with Bludgers and catching Golden Snitches whilst representing the four famous Hogwarts house teams of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
Physical Education Workshop Click to read full text What better way to venture into the Wizarding World during your P.E. lessons than playing Quidditch, the sport made famous in the Harry Potter books and films.
The pupils taking part will play some fun games to learn the rules and positions involved and then move onto playing matches against each other, representing the Hogwarts house teams. They will use a variety of skills regularly used in other sports and activities such as running, changing direction, lots of hand-eye co-ordination, passing, throwing, catching, aiming, dodging, defending and attacking.
Quidditch is an inclusive sport and is a hit with those children that excel in sport, but what is fantastic about Quidditch is how it resonates with those children who are not your usual sporty children. They love it and quite often don't realise they are playing sport, they just picture themselves in the Wizarding World being Harry Potter or one of his friends.
Team Building WorkshopOur Quidditch sessions are a fantastic way to bring a team together. Team building skills are vital in sport and in other walks of life so being able to work together when each member of the team has a role to play is very beneficial.
With lots of skills being used in each role to accomplish the task at hand it can begin to emulate a workplace environment, in a fun, engaging and inclusive environment.
We can adapt our sessions to suit participants with SEN. This can be in the form of not needing a broomstick if this causes an issue, playing walking Quidditch to slow down the pace of the game if needed, using balls that create a noise for those with visual impairments and many other adaptations, just get in contact and we can talk you through it.
Quidditch for Muggles is run by Owyn Rees, who was a PE teacher for years in both private and state schools. After playing a version of Quidditch on the last lesson of the year for one class he decided to run Quidditch sessions for the local community during school holidays. That idea grew into a school holiday camp named Camp Hogwarts, providing activities like potions, spell casting, flying lessons, Quidditch and much more. Now Owyn is fulltime running Quidditch for Muggles and visits schools, companies. tour groups and other groups providing workshops and running sessions based around the Wizarding World.
