Planning a PE residential of day? Look no further than The Wilderness Company who offer a wide range of outdoor activities that slot seamlessly into a number of awarding bodies, whether looking at GCSE Rock Climbing or Hill Walking as part of the Cambridge Nationals. We can offer a residential option that allows you to have a dedicated trip to work on a number of sports, and achieve excellent outcomes.
Bushcraft School Trip
We can offer a super engaging bushcraft experience at our ancient woodland site, 50 acres of ancient woodland allow us to explore a diverse range of bushcraft topics, from firelighting, shelter building, foraging, wood carving, water purification, camp cooking. We can link to a variety of subjects to offer a cross curricular learning package, our experienced instructors can incorporate a number of bushcraft topics into a fun and engaging programme with a host of possible learning outcomes.
Our Wilderness Camp offers the perfect accommodation venue to take part in a residential with either a focus on bushcraft or as part of a multi activity programme.

Watersports School Trip

Watersports is our happy place! From Mega Paddleboarding on our own private lake to a class river trip we offer a divers range of watersports as part of a residential programme or a day programme. Our diverse offering see us working with primary schools on Ullswater for the day to a river trip in North Yorkshire School every year all the way to our very own private lake for residential provision.
Forest School School Trip
Forest school activities + 50 acres of ancient woodland and lake + experienced and passiontate staff = The Wilderness Camp,
Join us for a host of forest school activities for both KS1 and KS2 children, a divers range of learning outcomes allow us to create bespoke programme that will work for your class.

Our stores has a multi use space available to be used as a classroom or schools can use our large dining tipi for classroom space.
Is there first aid on site?
yes, all there staff are Outdoor Specific First Aiders
Access for visitors with disabilities
We are not wheelchair friendly but can work with you to make it happen for your young people, this year we have had children who have been blind, deaf and with complicated physical needs.
Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
We offer bespoke programmes on a case by case basis, we have a number of special schools that return every year because we offer such a nurturing and supportive environment. In terms of Physical impairment this can be a little more challenging, we are not present wheelchair friendly.

We are a small family run company with a small dedicated team of staff that care deeply about offering the highest quality residential experinces possible. We are super proud of what we offer and we have no doubt you'll love it too, the last few years we have a 100% rebooking rate for schools. We've been working with some schools for 17 years, every year!
