As well as in-venue workshops, it also offers an 'Art of Wellbeing' virtual classroom. This curriculum-linked session is led remotely by museum experts who bring learning to life and inspire the imaginations of students by engaging them in activities based on real artefacts. Virtual classrooms are also supported by resources and activities that you can use before and after your session.

Click to read full text Virtual Classroom: The Art of Wellbeing KS1 - Students will practice listening and responding appropriately to adults and their peers and ask relevant questions to extend their understanding and knowledge. They will use relevant strategies to build their vocabulary, articulate and justify answers, arguments and opinions, as well as giving well-structured descriptions, explanations and narratives for different purposes. They will maintain attention and participate actively in collaborative conversations, staying on topic and initiating and responding to comments, use spoken language to develop understanding through speculating, hypothesising, imagining and exploring ideas, and consider and evaluate different viewpoints.

Click to read full text Virtual Classroom: The Art of Wellbeing KS1 - Students will use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination. They will develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space. Additionally, they will learn about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers, describing the differences and similarities between different practices and disciplines, and making links to their own work.


Virtual Classroom: The Art of Wellbeing KS2 - Students will develop their techniques, including their control and their use of materials, with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of different kinds of art, craft and design. They will improve their mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing, painting and sculpture with a range of materials (for example, pencil, charcoal, paint, clay), and learn about great artists, architects and designers in history.

National Museums Liverpool is made up of seven museums and art galleries in and around Liverpool, which welcome millions of visitors every year.

From virtual classrooms at the Walker Art Gallery to hands-on activities at World Museum, it offers a huge range of workshops and activities for schools and groups, all linked to the national curriculum.

Secondary schools in Liverpool City Region with over 30% of students on free school meals. Two free artist-led workshops for 50 Year 9 pupils. Up to £500 towards coach travel. Follow-up digital Art and Design careers session for the entire year group.
