Important update from English Heritage
In line with government guidelines, our staffed sites remain closed in the interests of public health. It is now clear that we will not be able to re-open on 1 May as we had originally hoped. Instead we will re-open as soon as government advice allows and only when we can ensure the safety of our visitors and our staff and volunteers.

Audley End House and Gardens is one of the 400 sites across England where we can bring your teaching to life. With an inspiring Victorian Service Wing, stables, kitchen garden and mansion to explore, your class can enjoy a whole day of self-led or expert-led activities.

Why book English Heritage for School Trips and Educational Visits?

Explore the beautiful 17th-century mansion and service wing, the Coal Gallery and top-floor nursery. Then, there's plenty more to see outside with the kitchen garden and resident horses in the stable block. Meet our costumed characters from May to October with our expert-led Discovery Visit.

What activities are available during group visits?

trip icon

Expert-led Discovery Visit available where pupils explore the life of a Victorian servant. Meet Mrs Warwick, formidable housekeeper to the Braybrooke family. Students are divided into two groups. While one group finds out about life as a servant and tries activities with the housemaids in the education room, the second group is left in the capable hands of Mrs Warwick. The groups then exchange places. Students are encouraged to come dressed in Victorian costume, and aprons are provided.
