Constantly rated 10/10Phil has been working with our school for over a decade now. Staff have always been impressed by his organisation, engaging delivery and professionalism. Our children, from Year 3 to 6, have always thoroughly enjoyed his stimulating and atmospheric workshops which are always effective in bringing a 'dry' subject to life - you really feel as if you've spent a morning in a Roman marketplace or in a Viking settlement. In over 25 years of teaching, he is simply one of the best facilitators I've had the pleasure to invite into a school!

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?
Medieval
Battle of Hastings
The morning workshop focuses on making and role play. The pupils will be met by the Lord of the Burh of Hlenc, who will guide then around the settlement. After a short introduction the children will engage in a series of activities and role play that will immerse them in history. While working, the pupils will also be spreading news and asking questions to learn more about Alfred's Englalond. Practical activities include: Weaving and lucets, Potters, Candle making, Clay Workers, Ink making and writing, Medieval illuminating, Leather working, Medieval Bakers, Metal Workers and Wise woman (doctors)
The afternoon session will be a Saxon war feast, a celebration before battle. Some pupils will practise and then perform plays, dances and poetry, while others will lay the table for the feast and learn how to serve in the Saxon way.

Those History People offer exciting on-site school trips for primary schools throughout the UK. We feature a variety of topics, including Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Greeks, Romans, Saxons & Vikings, the Norman Invasion of 1066, the Great Fire of London with more workshops in development. Our teachers offer practical hands-on history workshops for primary schools, ensuring an exciting and educational packed day without the hassle, inconvenience or expense of leaving your school.
We aim to provide a full day of learning with a specialist primary history teacher from 9:15 am to 3.00 pm, at competitive prices. Our teachers are all fully qualified specialist primary school teachers and are committed to providing the best service for primary schools and a full day of learning for pupils. All teachers working for Those History People have had a full enhanced DBS check.
