On the first day, upon arrival in Rome, students are welcomed with an engaging visit to the Time Elevator, where they can immerse themselves in an interactive journey through the city's rich history. Following this, the group will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, offering authentic Roman cuisine, before an evening visit to the iconic Trevi Fountain, where students can experience the magic of this historic monument illuminated at night.
On the second day, the focus is on exploring the heart of the Vatican. The day will begin with visits to the Vatican Museums, where students can admire masterpieces of art and sculpture, including the breathtaking Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo's famous painted ceiling. The group will explore St. Peters Basilica and St. Peter's Square, soaking in the architectural grandeur. In the evening, the group will dine at a venue like the Hard Rock Cafe, enjoying a lively atmosphere and classic cuisine, before strolling to the nearby Spanish Steps for a selfie or two at one of Rome's most photographed sites.
The third day offers an insight into ancient Roman engineering and early Christian history. The day starts with a visit to Hadrian's Villa, a beautifully preserved example of Roman luxury and architectural innovation. In the afternoon, students will explore the Catacombs of San Callixtus, allowing them a glimpse into early Christian burial practices and religious history. The day concludes with some free time for students to explore or relax, followed by dinner at a local restaurant.
On the fourth day, students will go on a comprehensive walking tour of Rome's most famous landmarks. The day includes visits to the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, where they can learn about gladiatorial combat and Roman political life. Also explore Palatine Hill and Capitoline Hill, to learn about the origins of Rome. The tour continues with the Museum of Capitoline Hill, Arco di Costantino, and Trajan's Column, providing insights into Roman art, architecture and imperial history. The evening is dinner at a local restaurant to enjoy traditional Roman dishes and talk about the day.
On the final day, the group will visit Antica Ostia, the ancient port of Rome, which once buzzed with Roman commerce, daily life, and maritime activities. After exploring this archaeological site, the group will transfer to the airport for their flight home, bringing to a close an enriching journey through the history and classics of ancient Rome.
