Example Itineraries for our 2026 trips
Here is how your seven day cultural tour to Southern India and Sri Lanka could look like. All tours can be tailored to your group, including where possible, places that you wish to visit. Your travel itinerary could include mix of historical sites, cultural experiences, and opportunities for learning
Day 1: Arrival in Chennai, India
Students could explore Marina Beach and time to get used to the bustling streets of southern India. India can be a shock to many travellers. The day can be tailored by focusing on local markets or art galleries, depending on students interests.
Day 2: Chennai to Mahabalipuram
Visit Mahabalipuram and its UNESCO World Heritage Group of Monuments including rock-cut temples and the famous Shore Temple. Learn about Dravidian architecture and Hindu mythology depicted in the sculptures.
Day 3: Pondicherry French Heritage
Your journey continues to Pondicherry, a place known for its French colonial architecture and beautiful beaches. Students can explore the French Quarter, visit the Aurobindo Ashram and experience the meeting of Indian and French cultures. You can tailor the trip to focus on anything from colonial history to environmental sustainability
Day 4: Travel to Colombo, Sri Lanka
Next fly to Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka, where you will begin a new experience. Visit the National Museum to understand Sri Lankas history and heritage.
Day 5: Colombo and Kandy
Students will visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy which is another UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore local markets and traditional dance performances, complete with religious traditions, arts, and cultural diversity.
Day 6: Sigiriya Rock Fortress
A day trip to Sigiriya and the ancient rock fortress plus the surrounding gardens to learn about ancient civilizations.

Return to the UK
