An example of an Exciting Educational Arts in Paris Journey for School Students
Day 1 - Arrival and Welcome to Paris
Depart from your home location and travel by coach to the city of Paris. Upon arrival in the afternoon or early evening, your group will check into their accommodation, where they will stay throughout the trip. This will be a time to settle in, unpack, and take in the local area. The day will conclude with a welcome dinner, giving you time to relax and discuss the exciting days ahead.
Day 2 - Exploring Impressionism and Modern Art
In the morning, students will visit the Musee Marmottan Monet, renowned for its impressive collection of Monet's works as well as work from other famous Impressionist painters. Here, they will participate in an interactive art workshop tailored specifically for students, allowing them to learn about the techniques used by Monet and other Impressionists. Later, head to the Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, which houses a diverse collection of 20th and 21st-century art, including works by Picasso, Matisse, and Delaunay. This will give students the opportunity to explore modern art movements and understand their influence on contemporary design. For lunch, the group will enjoy a leisurely meal at a nearby cafe or restaurant, trying more French cuisine and discussing the artworks they have seen so far.
In the afternoon, students will take a memorable boat trip along the Seine River, offering stunning views of Paris's iconic landmarks such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and other architectural marvels from the water - views that were often painted by famous artists of the past. After the river trip, there will be some free time around the Eiffel Tower, where students can take photos or sketch. The day will end with a return to the accommodation for dinner, allowing students to reflect on their artistic discoveries and experiences.
Day 3 - Masterpieces and Artistic Inspiration
This morning will begin with a guided visit to the unique Centre Pompidou which serves as France's leading modern art museum. Students will participate in a workshop focused on contemporary art techniques and concepts, while also being inspired by the museum's interesting architecture. Following this, they will visit the Musee Picasso, dedicated to the legendary artist Pablo Picasso. Here, students will explore Picasso's work, from Cubism to his later periods, a great example of how an artist's style can evolve and influence modern design.
For lunch, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a meal at a nearby bistro. In the afternoon, the group will visit the famous Louvre Museum, which holds one of the world's largest collections of art. A guided tour will highlight key masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and ancient sculptures. Students will also have optional free time to explore specific exhibits or sketch their favourite works. The evening will be spent returning to the hotel for dinner.
Day 4 - Farewell Paris
After breakfast, the group will leave their accommodation and make the return journey to the UK.
