Yorkshire school trips boast moors, abbeys, and mining museums for geography, literature, and industrial history explorations, offering robust, memorable outings that align with curriculum and ignite passion for discovery in students.

Yorkshire's finest school trip destinations

The fantastic geology of Yorkshire includes an ever changing Jurassic coastline and the important Carboniferous limestone pavements of the Dales. Consequently you will not find many school pupils in the north of England who have not been on a geography or geology fieldtrip to this wonderful county. But Yorkshire has a lot more to offer schools that are looking to extend their areas of study to outside the classroom.

Scholars of the arts will know about the great many writers, poets and artists who have been influenced by the region and whose work talks about the beautiful countryside, and depicts the mill towns. While historians will know about the many castles built to defend the major towns and strategic settlements from the invading armies of Scotland.

If you are looking for trips that will enable, support and complement your teaching of the National Curriculum, through memorable learning experiences, then we would urge you to consider the fine examples discussed below.

The county boundaries of Yorkshire have altered many times over the years. Since the time of Viking settlements, the county was divided in three parts known as the Ridings of East, West and North Yorkshire. Theses ancient counties were lost in 1974 when the large political reorganisation of British counties created Yorkshire as a single entity, the largest county in the United Kingdom, and part of the North of England.
