Viking workshops for school groups
Would you like a visit from a Viking? Your class can plan Viking raids and invasions. Try on replica clothing worn by the men and women of the time. Learn Viking facts. Recreate their famous long boats that brought them across the North Sea. Talk about their diet and how they farmed their food. Look at the various jobs that held together their society. Discover their beliefs, Gods and traditions. Your children can play some Viking games, or even write their names in runes, the Viking alphabet.
A Viking school workshop is a superb way to travel back in time to understand the arrival of the Norse men, their subsequent settlement, and how the Danelaw brought about a new time period in British history.
