Why an Edutainment school trip to KidZania London?

KidZania London is a 75,000 square feet indoor city built for children where they can take part in exciting real-life adventures. Kids are able to experience and work in various professions - from a firefighter to a journalist, surgeon to TV presenter, there really is something for everyone! KidZania provides children with the opportunity to gain knowledge, work together and develop essential life skills including financial literacy, teamwork and independence. They are also able to develop their understanding of earning and spending money using KidZos - KidZania’s very own currency!
KidZania is the perfect place for an educational visit that focuses on careers learning and soft skills development suitable for KS1, KS2 and KS3.
At the basis of the KidZania nation there are six rights: to be, to know, to create, to share, to care and to play. These rights are protected by KidZania’s very own mascots - the RightZKeepers’: Bekha, Urbano, Beebop, Chika, Vita and Bache.
Through ultrarealistic role-play, KidZania is designed to empower kids, give them the confidence to be their best selves and inspire them to be great global citizens.

The benefits of early career learnings

The Department of Education has recently announced a new ‘early careers learning programme’ that will be accessible to primary schools. Why is it important for students as young as five to be exposed to the world of work?
It has been proven that children’s ideas and preferences about career pathways start forming around the age of five. It is therefore important to expose young children to different professions in order to broaden their horizons, as well as breaking stereotypes from an early age. KidZania equips children with confidence to achieve their goals, the chance to foresee their future and encourage wider dreams and aspirations.
Learning does not stop outside of the classroom and KidZania prepares and supports children in the development of their future careers and adulthood.
It’s important to encourage children to be creative and inquisitive and to give them the tools “to develop a healthy sense of self that will enable them to reach their full potential” *.
It’s been proven that from the age of five, children start eliminating careers that do not represent them. Between the ages of six to eight, they tend to become influenced by gender stereotypes and from the age of nine, social status becomes a factor. Therefore, it is important that children are exposed to a broad selection of job roles and opportunities from a young age in an environment where they are encouraged to be whatever they wish.
KidZania is about roleplay, a pedagogical approach called ‘experiential learning’. It develops children’s understanding of the world they live in and personal skills that enable them to succeed as they grow. The KidZania experience is highly interactive and brings benefits that traditional classroom-based learning cannot.
KidZania London is the perfect place to visit to inspire your class on future careers and broaden their perspectives and future!

KidZania London’s Careers Festival is back… Inspiring the next generation about the world of work.

KidZania’s Careers Festival returns 6-10 March 2023

Children in KS1- KS3 can meet incredible professionals from different sectors and companies such as British Airways Met Police, London Zoo, Robothink, Roland, Shooting Starz sports Club and The London Wetland Centre.*

KidZania London is set to host its next Careers Festival from 6-10 March 2023.

School children can expect an experience which will broaden their horizons where they can meet professionals from a range of industries. By linking learning to future jobs, the festival aims to raise career aspirations.
At KidZania London, kids enter an indoor replica city where they can try a range of fun and educational job roles - from an aeroplane pilot to a journalist, radio DJ to a card designer in the Pokémon Studio. The immersive KidZania experience aims to broaden children’s horizons and give them the freedom to be whoever they want by experiencing a variety of different jobs.
At our Careers Festival, kids are able to meet various inspiring professionals around the city and introduced to role-models from a large range of industry giants - from British Airways, Met Police, London Zoo, Roland and many more.* Kids can also attend a CV writing workshop in KidZania’s very own University.
Whether your focus is on children’s development, wellbeing or providing them with an end-of-term treat, a visit to KidZania allows pupils to see the value of learning a wide range of curriculum subjects while boosting communication skills, self-esteem and emotional health.
Children who visit three or more professions at the festival will receive an additional five kidZos which they can spend or save for their next visit.
Bethany White, Head of Sales said: ‘We are delighted to build on the success of last year’s Careers Festival and continue to inspire the next generation in 2023. At KidZania, we believe that kids need to be empowered and so we are thrilled to be broadening their horizons once again with another Careers Festival where they can meet real life professionals giving them the invaluable opportunity to spark their curiosity by asking questions’.
