Explore an alternative way of learning with Peak

Supporting young people on their educational journey can come with a lot of ups, downs and unexpected turns. As we know, each child is unique and they all have their own idea of what it is they want and need. Deciding on education and encouraging them to gain skills and reach goals can also be a challenge. This is especially true if you are working with students who struggle socially and emotionally, and exhibit challenging behaviour. These students can also find it difficult to achieve in a mainstream educational setting.
But fear not, our trained and experienced staff at Peak can help schools and teachers achieve learning outcomes with ease and we pride ourselves on delivering quality experiences and helping our young learners succeed. With this in mind we have created a Development Programme to provide schools with an alternative educational option that supports students who struggle in a traditional classroom environment.
An alternative learning experience of a lifetime:

Throughout our time working with young people, we have found that learning through activity is a great way to engage students and give them a new experience that doesn’t feel like learning in the traditional sense.
We have several outdoor activity centres that school groups can visit and where students can start their alternative learning adventure. Our Development Programme learning activities include archery, bushcraft, climbing, British Canoeing, katu kanuing, orienteering, raft building, RYA sailing, stand-up paddle boarding and ziplining.

We will work with you to create a bespoke activity programme that will develop students and help schools achieve learning outcomes. A bespoke activity programme will also help students to focus, communicate, develop leadership skills, boost self-awareness and vary their range of social and emotional skills needed to thrive in life.

We will also work with schools and teachers to incorporate a wide range of content or target specific syllabus points. Depending on the syllabus and age group of your students, we can cover and incorporate a range of educational topics. For example, we can run biology sessions where students can learn about different ecosystems, adaptations, classifications, conservation and ecology and learn in a practical manner.
Assessing for success:

Our Development Programme can run over the span of a week for a minimum of 6 weeks and throughout the programme we will track, measure and report on each individual student’s progression as well as the progression of the group as a whole. This will include creating reports that focus on session behaviour, peer and staff relationships, and social and emotional competence.

Peak have a proven track record in helping young people to achieve and we’re here to make sure schools and teachers to achieve their educational goals too. We have several centres throughout the UK in Cheshire, Staffordshire, Manchester and Sheffield. For more information on our Development programme please contact the team on 01782 722226 and we will be happy to discuss your requirements and get your adventure started.
