Amazing Autumn Residentials at Mount Cook Adventure Centre

Derbyshire based Mount Cook Adventure Centre offers residentials that build confidence, embed learning and create strong bonds between peers. With exciting outdoor activity sessions such as climbing and abseiling on real rock, carefully designed team building challenges, and the showstopping 100m long zip wire, Mount Cook provides world class residentials to schools 365 days a year.
Whether it’s a year 6 cohort preparing for their last year in Primary School, or year 10’s planning a revision focused getaway, starting the school year in September or October with a residential trip can make the most of a valuable residential that will improve classroom attainment and create relationships for the full school year ahead.

What are the benefits?
The Climate
September often brings dry, mild weather - is perfect for an action packed residential with zip wire, high ropes, archery and orienteering. It’s also a great time of year in the Peak District around Mount Cook Adventure Centre, with expert instructors to teach pupils about mushrooms, acorns and bushcraft skills that are only available in the autumn. Engaging with nature in the autumn term is truly special.
Avoid Peak Season Pricing
Mount Cook offers discounted rates for September and October bookings, making residentials more accessible to schools and families. With many parents concerned about pricing, securing a lower rate for an exciting adventure is a win for everyone. Mount Cook also provides flexible packages in autumn - only need one night away? No problem!
History packages
A special autumn exclusive at Mount Cook for Key Stage 2 - History Residentials! Only available out of peak season, these residentials will transport your students back through time to experience life as a Roman, Viking, or Pre-Historic Briton. With hands on activity sessions such as archaeological dig, ancient crafts and fancy dress, this is a perfect residential to kick off the school year and bring a topic to life.
A powerful outdoor learning experience
School trips in September are more than just a fun getaway - they're a strategic move to promote learning, strengthen relationships, and ease the transition into a new school year. Creating memories early will promote personal growth and robust relationships through real world experiences.

And they can prove it!
Don’t take our word for it - Mount Cook Adventure Centre provides evidence that your students will improve their resilience, relationships and ability to emotionally regulate.
