Why should you consider Broadway Tours for School Trips and Educational Visits?

Normandy is one of the best known areas of France and certainly one of the most popular, not least because of its easy accessibility from the UK and its fascinating history, so intrinsically-linked with our own. With its varied and contrasting landscapes and a wide array of exciting and educational places to visit, Normandy makes for the perfect destination for both special and general interest tours alike.

What better way to introduce your students to the vivid history of World War II and the harsh realities of life in combat than a carefully-constructed itinerary packed full of fascinating visits guaranteed to bring this subject to life? There’s certainly no shortage of options, from the D-Day Landing Beaches of Juno, Sword, Gold, Omaha and Utah and their respective memorials and museums to the poignant war cemeteries of Colleville-sur-Mer, Bayeux, Ranville and La Cambe. The Airborne Museum at Sainte-Mère-Eglise, the first town to be liberated by the Allies, and the Arromanches 360° Cinema are just two of our most popular visits.

Of course, beyond its many World War II sites, Normandy is also a great destination for students of Art, Food Technology and Medieval History, all the while providing the perfect opportunity to hone those French language skills. The Bayeux Tapestry, Mont St-Michel and Giverny are regular favourites, and younger groups may choose to balance their itinerary with hands-on visits to a traditional boulangerie, cheesemaker or chocolate factory. Equally, Le Havre, Rouen and Honfleur are also popular for those with an interest in art.

With a number of ferry options from Dover, Newhaven, Poole and Portsmouth, travel to Normandy is easy and the region offers a good variety of hostel and hotel accommodation in which to base your group. Contact us today to see how we can help you provide a memorable school trip to Normandy.
