World War One will forever be etched into the culture of our nation and many others. Example Itineraries
Exploring Ypres and the Somme are impacting visits. Suggested 3 day tour of Belgium Battlefields:
DAY 1
• Depart UK early morning by coach and ferry
• Arrive in Ypres for a guided tour of the battlefield sites (Menin Gate, Essex Farm, Tyne Cot Cemetary) rounded off with a visit to Hill 60 and Sanctuary Wood Museum
• Early evening visit to the Menin Gate for the Last Post Ceremony
• Arrive at your accommodation
DAY 2
• Breakfast at accommodation
• Morning exploration of Ypres (In Flanders Museum)
• Afternoon of The Somme battlefield sites (Thiepval Memorial, Newfoundland Park and Musee Somme 1916)
• Evening meal at accommodation
• Optional ten-pin bowling
DAY 3
• Breakfast at accommodation
• Morning visit to Vimy Ridge
• Return to the UK by coach and ferry
We have created our itineraries based on recommendation from our expert guides, in conjunction with what has worked for our groups for years. However, your group is unique to us, and as such we aim to make each and every itinerary and tour bespoke to the needs of your school. We operate bespoke itineraries for 1-5 days WW1 Battlefield trips. All itineraries are provisional guides and can be tailored to your specific needs.
What size groups do you cater for?
Minimum of just 10 paying passengers with no maximum.
Is there first aid on site?
Yes, via our in destination suppliers and coach drivers.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
At Adaptable Travel, we strive for inclusivity and thus work to ensure all our group needs are catered for. Whatever your special requirements may be, simply let us know and we will do our best to assist and advise. We can offer wheelchair accessible coaches if required.
