Our University tours to Morocco tend to be taken over 5 or 8 days and involve a huge variety of different activities and experiences.

Marrakech Welcome to Morocco! Following your transfer from the airport to our joining hotel you can relax by the hotel pool before the pre-departure meeting at where you will meet your fellow travellers. Overnight Marrakech (D)
Ouarzazate After breakfast we travel to Ouarzazate. After lunch there is a chance for an optional tour of the Film studios, famous for films such as Gladiators, The Last Temptation of Christ and the Living Daylights. There is also time for quad biking ( optional) and exploring Ouarzazate. Overnight Ouarzazate (B,L,D)
Sahara Desert Today we enjoy a stunning drive were we will stop and visit the irrigation wells where you can see how the wells are made up from an intricate network of canals, dating back to the 14th Century and covering more than 300km. We then stop for a fantastic Moroccan lunch and a relaxing swim. It is then time to head towards the great desert dunes of Erg Chebbi, Merzouga, where we transfer to our camels for a trek into the Sahara Desert for a night at our Berber Camp. We enjoy local food, music and an amazing night out under the Saharan stars. Overnight Berber camp (B,L,D)
Ait Benhaddou After a wonderful breakfast in the Dunes we leave the desert, and move on for a lunch stop at Todra Gorge. This 1000ft gorge is hemmed in on all sides by vertical limestone cliffs and is also called Morocco’s Grand Canyon. In the afternoon we continue to Ait Benhaddou and visit this UNESCO World Heritage site, which boasts great examples of Kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. Overnight Ait Benhaddou (B,L,D)
Essaouira We bid fond farewell to Ait Benhaddou this morning as we move over the Atlas Mountains with its dramatic scenery and on to Essaouira on the Atlantic Coast. Overnight Essaouira (B,L)
Essaouira Today we have the whole day to explore and enjoy the sights and activities of Essaouira; a colourful fishing town situated within 15th century Portuguese fortifications, where great beaches and surf beckon. Relax on the beach or alternatively explore the UNESCO-listed medina with its various souks and woodcarving workshops. Any city gate leads to the medina, so you’re unlikely to get lost. The beach is in front of the Medina and there are plenty of cafés with terraces, both ideal for relaxing for a few hours. Blue doors and window frames abound as do the artists’ shops – buy a carpet or Thuya wood carving or sit on the beach sipping a mint tea as the sun sets. There is the opportunity to do some optional activities, such as quad biking, surfing, horse trekking and wind surfing or you can just simply sit on the beach and relax! Overnight Essaouira (B)
Marrakech After breakfast we head back to Marrakech for our final night. On arrival in Marrakech, we will have some free time to relax by the hotel pool before we start our guided city tour later in the afternoon. The day ends with our last group meal in the Djemaa El Fna ,the legendary main square full of acrobats, snake charmers, juice sellers and various open air restaurants. Overnight Marrakech (B, D)
