Bay of Naples/Amalfi Coast School Trips

Example Itineraries for our 2026 trips

DAY 1
Morning - Flight from UK to Naples.
Afternoon - Transfer from airport to Solfatara for 1 hour guided tour and see Bocca Grande Fumorole, The Fangaia, The pozza and Stufe then check into your hotel.
Evening - Time at leisure to explore Sorrento on foot and walk from Piassa Tasso down ancient steps that lead to the Marina Grande Harbour. Evening meal in hotel.

DAY 2
Morning - Breakfast in hotel followed by Tour of Napoli Sotterranea.
Afternoon - 1/2 day visit to Mt. Vesuvius with entry and guide - 2 hour climb.
Evening - Time at leisure. Take part in one of Italy's most popular pastimes - the evening Passegiatta.

DAY3
Breakfast followed by an all day cruise of the World Heritage site Amalfi Coast and Capri Coast to view the fantastic scenery and rock formations.

DAY 4
Breakfast followed by check out of hotel and transfer to airport for return flight home.

Naples is a vibrant city steeped in rich culture and history, making it an ideal destination for school groups. The city is famous for its stunning architecture, art, and music, as well as its delicious cuisine, including pizza, which originated in Naples.

School groups can visit the National Archaeological Museum to learn about ancient civilizations, explore the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the stunning Castel dell'Ovo and Castel Nuovo.

The San Carlo Theatre, one of the oldest opera houses in the world, is also a must-visit, offering guided tours and performances. Additionally, a visit to the iconic Pizzeria Brandi, where pizza was invented, is a great way to experience the local cuisine and culture, making Naples an unforgettable and educational destination for school groups.

Naples, a city steeped in rich history, offers an incredible tapestry of cultural influences and historical significance, making it an ideal destination for school groups. Visitors can explore the ancient ruins of Pompeii, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, and delve into the fascinating world of archaeological artifacts at the National Archaeological Museum.

The vibrant streets of Naples themselves showcase a blend of medieval architecture and Renaissance art, with highlights including the majestic Castel Nuovo and the stunning Duomo di Napoli. Additionally, the underground Naples, or Napoli Sotterranea, provides an intriguing glimpse into the city's layered past. Geography

Naples, is situated on the Campania coastline, characterized by volcanic landscapes, including Mount Vesuvius, a famous stratovolcano that last erupted in 1944, and the Solfatara crater, a caldera that offers a glimpse into the region's ancient volcanic past.

For school groups, Naples offers a variety of educational and engaging destinations that showcase its geography. Some must-visit places include the National Museum of Archaeology to learn about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and its impact on the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, the Castel dell'Ovo to explore the city's medieval history, and the Certosa di San Martino, a stunning Benedictine monastery that offers breath-taking views of the Bay of Naples.
