Why should you consider Amsterdam History with Adaptable Travel for
your next School Trip or Educational Visit?
Amsterdam lends itself as one of Europe's best school trip destinations, from a rich and powerful history to its unique cultural identity there is plenty for your students to discover whatever their subject. History however, is something the city radiates in abundance! The fascinating range of attractions and landmarks tell the unique story of Amsterdam's evolution from a small fishing village, to an international trading post and the fascinating city we know today. Amongst this history is the infamous significance of WWII, the presence of which can be felt in several sites around the city and numerous more across the region.
With well-preserved historic sites and excellent, informative museums sprinkled throughout the city, your students can explore how WWII impacted Jewish life and culture including how German and Nazi occupation shaped a significant period of the city's history. Bringing this topic to life for your students is a great way for them to understand the magnitude of World War II and how the dramatic events have shaped European history and elements of history on a global scale.
