School tours can be organised for all ages, with a range of themes. Examples are History & Heritage, Agriculture and Farming, the Occupation of Jersey and Sports & Adventures.
Why should you consider CI Travel Group for School Trips and Educational Visits?
Historically, farming can be traced back to the 15th century and a visit to Hamptonne Country Life Museum would be included in your tour and would demonstrate farming methods as they were in the day.
These days the industry is dominated by two main activities; the production of the ‘Jersey Royal’ new potato and dairy farming with the ‘Jersey’ breed of cow. In addition there is a flourishing base of local fruit and vegetables for consumption on the island through the local market and retail shops.
Tours can be tailored to a specific farming industry if required, however a sample package is detailed below.
* Return transport to Jersey
* Shared accommodation with meals as detailed
* A visit to see farming as it was in the 15th century at the Hamptonne Country Life Museum
* Visits to areas on the island devoted to the growing of the Jersey Royal (Please note this excursion can only take place during the potato growing season)
* A visit to one of Jersey’s dairy farms to see the process from calves to milking of the herd.
* A planned visit to the Jersey Dairy.
* All transfers, site visits and admissions can be included in the package price.
