School Trips - Adventure South Iceland
Getting students engaged and curious about the Icelandic landscape is definitely easier if they are experiencing it first hand. Add in the possibilities of spending a few days led by local guides with professional knowledge of safe exploring and the skills to provide appropriate challenge and the result is excellent. Hiking, hot stream bathing, getting underground and testing out snowshoes are some of the items on the programme. We work exclusively with our Icelandic partner to offer this programme, you won't find it anywhere else.
From my own years of school travel in Iceland, some of the best experiences were with smaller groups immersed in the all new and exciting sights and sounds of the nature and huge landscapes of Iceland. We're now Iceland destination travel specialists and for schools, this is style of what we do. If you're looking for an authentic and exciting adventure based Geography trip with plenty going on contact us now.
We have also worked hard to make this programme one of the most weather resistant of our trips, maybe you'd like to find out why. As everything we do starts with an outline and is adapted from there, contacting us is a great way to get started.
Why should you consider Iceland Traveller for School Trips and Educational Visits?
First rate equipment, highest safety standards, excellent and generous meals, comfortable accommodation, a truly different way of seeing South Iceland with plenty of wow and the opportunity to get to grips with the geography all around you.
Transport between activities is by minibus or bigger wheeled jeeps, which includes travelling to see the Mid Atlantic ridge, the geyser and stunning waterfalls at Gullfoss and Seljalandsfoss. There's ample opportunity for teachers to work with their group to pick out key ideas for learning, as well as for photography and for fun!
This smaller group programme offers the freedom for flexibility, for being able to see and do more and to engage fully with the guides accompanying you throughout your stay.
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
One of the key learning opportunities for Geography is to experience first hand the scale of the landscape, the dispersed location of settlements and to see (eg) evidence of abandoned farms.
This small group programme lends itself very well to field study and includes plenty of opportunity to build in a focus on geology, geothermal power, volcanic processes or biogeography. Share you ideas with us please.
Learn about Iceland's geology from people who can explain it to you. For this trip the focus is on more on a local scale but this can always be adapted.
The programme runs over 4 or more days based on an agreed list of preferred activities and locations.
