Retrace the footsteps of the WWII heroes by visiting the Normandy landing beaches and giving your pupils the opportunity to understand the enormity of what took place here.
A popular visitor attraction is the Musee du Debarquement or the 360-degree cinema.
For a truly unique Normandy experience, we recommend a stop in Bayeux where you can visit the famous Bayeux Tapestry.
We offer a range of packages at Chateau Beaumont, as an example a Friday to Monday stay could look a little like this:
Day 1: You excitedly board a coach and travel to Chateau Beaumont, receiving a warm welcome and evening meal once settled in. After dinner our evening entertainments, allow your group a chance to explore our site, meet our instructors and prepare for the days ahead.
Day 2: You awake for breakfast before heading to Chateau de Fougeres. Here you can enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent medieval fortress steeped in history, before enjoying a packed lunch. In the afternoon, you head straight to Saint Malo known as the Walled City of the Sea and also the ultimate French Pirate Town! before heading back to the Chateau for dinner and evening entertainments.
Day 3: You awake for breakfast before spending the morning trying out some of our on-site activities, such as: archery, fencing, nightline or maybe even braving our zip wire. After an on-site lunch, you spend an afternoon at the Brittany American Cemetery which is the resting place of 4,409 American soldiers, before heading back to the chateau in time for your evening meal and Disco night.
Day 4: You enjoy a last breakfast at Chateau Beaumont before it’s time to say your goodbyes and begin your journey home calling at Bayeux to see the famous tapestry followed by a visit to the very popular 360-degree cinema at Arromanches.
(Note: We are highly flexible and can mix a combination of packages together to create a bespoke itinerary tailored to your individual group, if you’d like to add a day in Paris or Disneyland on route home, for example.)
What size groups do you cater for?
Our package prices work on a minimum of 35 children, allowing for 4 free teacher places. Although we do also welcome smaller groups and will quote accordingly.
Chateau Beaumont can accommodate anywhere up to 134 students.
Is there first aid on site?
There is always a designated First Aider on site. Our staff are comprehensively trained to take responsibility for the safety of all children in their care, making everyone’s stay at the Chateau: fun, safe and educational.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
If we are provided with advance notification at the time of enquiry and are able to discuss the requirements and provisions that are needed.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We welcome young people with additional needs. We can also offer extra teacher places where possible if 1:1 ratio is required.
