Why are Techniquest Glyndwr great for School Trips and Educational Visits?
Techniquest Glyndwr offers a wide range of activities with over 50 available to students of all ages. With it's hands-on approach students will come away with more than just a smile on their faces.
During the warmer months you can explore the wonder of our new Science Garden on site with a fantastic mixture of both plant and wildlife.
Our sizeable lunch room is available to cater for your group with plenty of space whilst our classrooms and laboratory are a perfect place to take in information when not engaging with our exhibits.
What activities are available during group visits?
We cover a range of over 50 STEM subjects ranging from KS1 to KS5.
What size groups do you cater for?
We can cater for groups of up to 150.
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
We have classrooms as well as a laboratory available.
Is there first aid on site?
Yes, we have First Aid trained staff first aid boxes located in every building.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
Multi-building site with covered walkway between buildings. Car park adjacent to the centre (20 metres) with allocated parking bays. Automatic doors to the main building. Open doors to other areas of the centre. The majority of the centre is at ground level with 2 rooms on the first floor (Science Theatre and lunch room). Lift access (with Braille and announcements) to the first floor. Stairs to first floor: 21 steps in total. Good colour contrast between floor and walls. Service Dogs welcome. Well lit areas in all parts of the attraction. Accessible toilet facilities for the disabled Techniquest Glyndŵr is located on a higher education campus (Wrexham Glyndŵr University) in buildings that have been adapted to house the science centre. Good road and pedestrian access is available with signposted routes through the campus. Public transport provision is available with bus & rail services adjacent to the Wrexham Glyndŵr Campus. Wrexham General Station is a 5-minute walk (pavements and a single road entry to the site to avoid steps). The nearest bus stop is also a 5-minute walk away. Assistance from Techniquest Glyndŵr team is available at all times.
