Space VR Workshop

PrimeVR

School Workshop

trip icon Our immersive workshops are a great way of bringing the curriculum to life without the hassle of organising a school trip!

During our space workshop, your class will learn all about:

- The planets in our Solar System

- The formation of our Solar System

- The Apollo 11 moon landing

- The Asteroid Belt

- The Milky Way Galaxy

- The International Space Station

It's often quite difficult to teach space and put its sheer size into perspective - this workshop aims to open a child's imagination using virtual reality and increase their understanding of a world outside of ours.

Following on from this workshop, your pupils can use their imagination to produce an amazing piece of creative writing.

Where we travel to

We can visit your school in:

What activities are available during this school workshop?

We cover the following topics using VR:

Ancient Maya, The Romans, The Vikings, The Egyptians, The Greeks, The Stone Age, World Wars, Polar Regions, North America, South America, China, Wonders of the World, Around the World, Mount Everest, Africa, Animals, Ocean Explorers, The Rainforest, Volcanoes, Biomes, Space and Climate Change.

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

English

Creative writing

At PrimeVR, we understand how difficult it can be to inspire children with their writing. We aim to create excitement by virtually transporting pupils into space! Not only will we provide your class with exciting facts about space but we'll also provide them with an experience to ignite their imagination. Give VR a go and see how it helps with creative writing!

Physics

Earth and space Planetarium

PrimeVR can bring your science topic to life by blasting your pupils into space! Using virtual reality headsets, we'll introduce your class to the different planets in our Solar System, their respective sizes, the Milky Way Galaxy and you'll even get to see the International Space Station!

We can also transport your class back in time to 1969, where your students will be able to feel like they are part of the Apollo 11 moon landing!

What size groups do we cater for?

We can deliver up to six workshops throughout the school day with a maximum of 32 pupils in each workshop.

We bring in 16 headsets and pupils will share one between two during workshops.

We recommend workshops lasting approximately 30-45 minutes.

Access for visitors with disabilities

Please get in touch if you have any specific questions regarding accessing our VR headsets.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We have extensive experience delivering workshops in a wide range of SEN settings, working with students from KS2 through to KS4. The feedback we have received from schools about our VR workshops has been overwhelmingly positive. We offer a range of workshops that can be adapted to suit the individual needs of your students.

Before confirming a booking, we arrange a call with the school to discuss your students’ needs in detail. This allows us to explain how the day will run, what you can expect from the sessions, and to agree on any additional measures or adjustments that may be needed to ensure all students feel comfortable and supported.

To make our visits viable, we encourage whole-school participation (KS2 and above). Our workshops are highly engaging and immersive, so we recommend a maximum session length of 30 minutes per class to help prevent fatigue or sensory overload.

Our VR headsets are accessible for students who use wheelchairs. Depending on individual preference, the headset strap can be worn over the head or the device can simply be held up to the eyes like a pair of binoculars. If any students find the headset overwhelming, we also provide tablets as an alternative (usually up to four per visit). This ensures that all students can still take part and engage with the content in a way that feels comfortable for them.

As our workshops are predominantly visual, students with hearing impairments are still able to benefit from the experience.

For safety reasons, we recommend that students who are prone to seizures or who have epilepsy consult with a medical professional before using a VR headset. We also require parental or guardian consent for all students who will be using our VR equipment.

Please get in touch if you would like to discuss how we can support your school or if you have any questions about our SEN-friendly approach.

Our Reviews from Schools..

★★★★★
We had a really enjoyable day of VR for Years 3-6. The day was very well organised and delivered, and the children really enjoyed the sessions. During the session the children got a good balance of VR (using the headset) and factual information about each topic (we had Stone Age, The Americas, Outer Space and Polar Regions). I think it's good value for money as a 'hook' to start a new topic. Overall a super day

★★★★★
We’ve had a fantastic time with Prime VR's VR workshops this week, a great addition to our STEM week! We'd like to say a massive thank you to Louie, who made the workshops such a hit with the kids. As teachers, we were really impressed with the knowledge and information he was able to provide to the children to enhance the VR content, and the opportunity it gave us to assess their prior learning.
