'Manorbier' for Residential School Trips and Educational Visits?
Outdoor activities at Manorbier are largely water based however we can offer our full range of activities from here. We offer 2 – 5 day activity programmes that are designed individually to meet your needs.
The building has modern furnishings and is well maintained throughout. There is a teacher’s kitchen and a quiet room for pupils who just want to enjoy some time to themselves. There are 69 beds in 14 rooms, the building can be sectioned off and secured if there are two or more schools in at a time. Outside there are glamping pods and Bell tents so the site can accommodate 90 in total. All meals are catered for in the central kitchen by professional cooks. All dietary needs can be catered for. There is a communal games room if everyone wants to socialise and plenty of outside space to run off any excess energy!
All activities are led by National Governing Body qualified instructors. Off-site the activities we offer are: Coasteering, Body boarding, Sit on kayaking, Climbing and abseiling, Coastal treks, Mountaineering, Beach craft and Raft building. On site there is: Bush Craft, Archery, BMX Biking, Orienteering and Team initiative Games. At the bottom of the cliffs which are reached by steel staircase is a lovely beach which is great for Rock Pooling, Beach Games, and Coasteering. All activities are the same cost so are interchangeable with other activities from our list.
For accommodation and catering there is one free teacher place for every 10 pupils. Teachers do not pay for any activities. Activity programmes are designed individually to meet your pupils needs, the level of activity can be delivered to meet all skill levels and age group. What activities are available during group visits?
Curriculum activities that we can cover from this location cover: Geology, Geography, History, Environmental studies and of course Physical education. For schools on longer or repeat visits National Governing Body awards are possible. Did you know that your pupils can undertake a short course under the ASDAN awards while you are staying at Manorbier. In particular there is a special ASDAN just for residentials and involves the planning, resourcing and participation in an activity residential. As registered ASDAN providers Pro-Active Adventure can facilitate this award.
Pro-Active can also support GCSE work in sports such as Climbing, Mountain Biking and Navigation. If you need any further information regarding what educational packages are available please just contact us for full information.
What size groups do you cater for?

Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
There are classroom facilities and outside learning areas available.
Is there first aid on site?
Every instructor holds at least a 16 hour outdoor first aid qualification.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
Yes the accommodation has full disabled facilities.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Yes, Pro-Active Adventure is specialised in working with pupils who have ALN, special educations needs or have emotional difficulties. We also provide activities and courses for young people who may be seen as NEET.
Anything else?
Pre-stay visits are welcome. We are very flexible in our approach and work closely with you the school to design an individual activity programme that meets your specific needs.
