Our workshops are run by professional costumed specialists with years of experience in school settings. We don't "stand at the front and talk", we expect the children (and teachers!) to get involved and really feel what it was like to live in Ancient Greece. Greece was one of the most influential civilisations in history for the sciences, medicine, maths, philosophy and the arts. Children will get a real feel for the world in the time of the Ancient Greeks through a wide range of activities and authentically made replica artefacts. Our costumed workshop leaders giving you a day full of fun activities and hands-on experiences.
We work to the highest standards of authenticity and constantly update our knowledge of the latest research into the period. Then we take that knowledge and disseminate it in inventive and child-friendly ways so that historical concepts are clearly understood by your class. We also understand how important it is to encourage enquiry skills with plenty of question time for the children to dig deeper into their own learning.

Ancient Greeks The birthplace of democracy, philosophy, medicine and mathematics, Ancient Greece was a culture that had enormous influence. Its legacy infiltrates every aspect of our modern life, not least with the language we use to describe it.
Classical Greece has been dubbed the birthplace of modern thought, with advances in the arts, sciences, mathematics and of course social structure and philosophy. So many of the scientific and philosophical words that we use today come from Ancient Greece; words like democracy (rule by the people), geometry, physics, telephone (far-sound) and anything with an -ology (the study of)! If you are anti-something, that’s Greek. If you are called Alexander or Jessica, Catherine or Philip, then you have a Greek name. If you’ve ever been to the theatre, listened to an orchestra or sung in a chorus, then you have taken part in an artistic tradition that goes right back to Ancient Greece.
