Why are Kew Little Pigs great for School Trips and Educational Visits?
Kew Little Pigs focuses on animal enrichment for children, giving children stimulating opportunities they may never have at home to spend time with animals they may never usually have hands on experience with. This is a great feature for children with allergies and asthma, as pigs have hair instead of fur, making them hypoallergenic.
Our visits are fun for both children and staff! We have over 6 years’ experience going to schools and care facilities with our micro pigs. Our visits allow children to use their imagination and branch out from everyday school learning.
What activities are available during group visits?
Pig care - providing a sense of responsibility to children
Anatomy - Can be simplified or made complex depending on the age range of children.
Mini pig keeping - You will take part in husbandry, helping us to either muck out and fluff up the beds, give new hay and straw and help to groom them. (These activities are age dependent)
You will be able to have some free time to play and get pictures with the pigs.
A certificate will be awarded for your participation in this activity.
