Our historical narrative will allow your children to experience Stone Age life, with visits to us having the opportunity to use our extensive woodland and Ufton Henge. Through a range of activities, they experience elements of culture and life in prehistory, which will bring the period to life in a fun and immersive way.

What activities are available during group visits?

On arrival, your group become members of the Tribe of the Red Deer and settlers in these lands. Work hard to ensure our survival and please the ancestors! Activities can include Stone Age skills, a Hunter Gatherer trail and even building a henge using authentic techniques!

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?

Prehistory

Curriculum topics available: Stone Age, Bronze Age.

From the moment you arrive at Ufton you will be immersed in the stories and lives of Stone Age Britain. We have found that by keeping a story running through your time with us children (and adults) have fun, and remember much more of what they have learnt. We will launch your story with a dramatic proclamation from a scroll, which will give your children a historical name, place them in history and give them a purpose for their visit. From that moment you will live and work as members of the Tribe of the Red Deer as we work hard and raise a great henge to honour our ancestors .

What size groups do you cater for?

20-100

Is there first aid on site?

Yes, all our teachers are first aid qualified. However, all schools are expected to bring a first aid trained member of staff to administer first aid to their pupils.

Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?

Yes, we have disabled facilities in the house, tithe barn and cabin site, including a fully equipped disabled cabin and bathroom.

Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Yes We certainly can. Please use the form below to let us know your group's specific SEN requirements and we will get back to you with more information on how we can tailor our learning experience for your children.

Who are Ufton Court?

Ufton Court provide history and outdoor learning school trips for Schools across the South East.

Our school trips are set within 16 acres of historical grounds and woodland. The rich environment combined with specialist teachers enable Ufton Court to offer a unique approach to education, teaching children in new and imaginative ways which enrich their learning and their lives. At Ufton Court the emphasis is on hands on, creative and interactive learning.

Our aim is to inspire your class to develop a passion for history and the outdoors. We understand that all schools are different and so our learning style is very flexible and our teachers work hard to provide schools with individual programmes that meet their needs.

Our schools get sole use of their residential sites at night, whether it is our beautiful Manor House or our cosy woodland cabins. We also offer day visits and can run workshops in your school.
