Why
book 'WWII' for School Trips and Educational Visits?
Your group will learn all about life in WW2. War is upon us and every family must do their bit for the country. Children will take part in skills and games typical of the 1940s, as well as learning about what would have happened when the Air Raid Siren sounded.
All residential visits will include a meal, set in a 1940s dance hall, where children can dress in costume. This will be led by Ufton staff and will include food and drink.
What activities are available during group visits?
Experience key skills during the 1940s, including willow weaving a tray for you to take away
Learn how to be self-sufficient through the 'Make-Do-Mend' movement, learning how to plait, sew on a button and make a rag rug.
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
World War
From the moment you arrive at Ufton you will be immersed in the stories and lives of recent evacuees to Ufton. We have found that by keeping a story running through your time with us children (and adults) have fun, and remember much more of what they have learnt. We will launch your story with a dramatic proclamation, which will give your children a historical name, place them in history and give them a purpose for their visit. From that moment you will work hard, facing the realities of life on the Home Front.
