We offer a hands on look at Anglo Saxon life, packed with activities and fast paced, fun information and facts!
See how Anglo Saxon grave finds help us understand a little more about their lives. Hold replica weapons and helmets, play board games, grind grain to make flour, guess our mystery objects, join an Anglo Saxon shield wall and much much more!
Our Viking workshop will give the pupils a chance to learn about all aspects of Viking life, using a mix of role play, activities and fun fast paced facts!
The children will play board games, try on and handle jewellery and replica Viking helmets and weapons, choose a Viking name and nickname and even learn how to work as a team in a Viking shield wall using spears and shields!

REPEATING HISTORY PROVIDE VIKING & ANGLO SAXON SCHOOL VISITS TO SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT ENGLAND.
We provide interactive hands on learning, with lots of varied activities. Each visit is hosted by a workshop leader in authentic period costume, and with our multitude of artefacts, replica weaponry, clothing etc brought with us, we delve into all aspects of Viking and Anglo Saxon life including home life, religion, work, battle, trade, food, language and geography.
Some of our activities…
• Grind grain to make flour
• Try on authentic copies of helmets, clothes and jewellery
• Take the chainmail lifting challenge
• Pick out the real foods of the time from our food display
• Learn to write in runes
• Play dice games, stick wrestling and hnefatafl
• Choose a name and occupation of the time
• Form up into a shield wall with spears and shields and follow battle commands
• Take part in our end of day quiz to see how many fun facts have been learnt during the day
