Maths The importance of triangulation in construction is key to all of our workshops. In the STEM workshops this is made evident in construction of the structures & in the STEAM workshops the students learn this themselves during their problem solving
Design Technology We only use two materials in the majority of our workshops; dowel and rubber bands. Using these simple materials pupils can easily grasp the importance of triangulation and strong bond in structures, both made made and natural.
PSHE The workshops are highly interactive, so pupils relay on one another to following instructions and complete each task that is set to complete the structure. In STEAM workshops team resilience is very important.
Physics As with Design & Technology it is the engineering contained in STEM that applies to Physics within our workshops and the importance of triangulation in structures
EngineeringYes We certainly can. Please use the form below to let us know your group's specific SEN requirements and we will get back to you with more information on how we can tailor our learning experience for your children.
Designed to stimulate imaginations and excite children and teachers alike the Architecture Workshops Hands-On experience is a Focused Practical Task For All Key Stages & Abilities. The workshops focus on simple ideas to amazing affect, using all aspects of STEM pupil’s work together to build stunning large scale structures.
Because of the need for school to achieve the best value for money our STEM workshops include building large scale models of historic architectural landmarks and structures, so not only do you get all aspects of STEM but the pupils can be making something that that bring curriculum subjects to life and demonstrates that all leaning is linked. To this end we include some literacy at the start of most workshops too! Pupils work individually, in small teams and altogether to build one large structure or many structures depending upon the focus of the chosen workshop. The ideas found in EYFS workshops are developed throughout our repertoire of workshops, from KS 1 & 2 right up to KS 3,4 & 5.
