What activities are available during group visits?
We pride ourselves on providing visitors with a personalised visit built around their requirements. With a mix of environmental and outdoor education programmes available plus the opportunity to get involved with feeding and caring for our onsite goats, pigs, chickens, donkeys and rabbits.
Facilities include:, High and low rope courses, laser gun village, archery, trim trail, den building, pond and river studies, history walk off site water sports to name just a few.
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
Shelter building offers the chance to experiment and explore various ways of constructing a shelter using only natural materials. The issues of who uses shelters and why is discussed with a chance to look at shelters and their use within the Centre, (tipis, hornbeam and willow constructions.) The children work in groups to design and build small or large-scale shelters and learn valuable teamwork and communication skills along the way.
In small teams, the children will scour the site and forage for wood to make their own campfire. They will be fully instructed on how to build a successful campfire and have the opportunity to light it safely and to keep it going. Once the fire is lit, the children will cook popping corn over the fire and enjoy the taste of freshly cooked popcorn.
Make your own Spartan shield and learn famous battle formations, meet the myths and legends on a hunt for the golden fleece, take part in the assault on troy on our trim trail. Explore Greek art work and make a Greek pot.
A day steeped in the ancient world of Egypt. Make papyrus paper and write in hieroglyphs. Learn about the Egyptian gods and goddesses and find the treasure in the hidden tomb. Dare to play the Mummy game!
On this day children will build a roman camp in our wooded area. Get physical and undertake gladiator training on our obstacle course. Discover your creative side when making clay pots. Create your own Roman shield and take part in recreating famous shield formations and battle cries.
Come spend the day learning about life in Anglo Saxon Britain. Make your own camp in our shelter building woods, build fires and cook over them. Become a warrior by making shields and learn battle formations. Raid a village to steal supplies on our assault course. Create a piece of Jewellery to take home. Learn about village life by making a clay pot and visiting the animals that live at the Centre.
Learn about our Viking past and be a Viking for the day. Wear sheepskin rugs and make a small Viking ship to sail on the pond. Discover how Vikings were a warrior people by making a shield and practise fighting formations. Build a Viking camp up in our shelter building woods and raid a stronghold for loot on our assault course. Have a chance to make clay pots and runes.

What size groups do you cater for?
Up to 222 staying. We can fully cater for up to 138 in our two buildings with a brand new £1 million pound facility just built. Plus up to 40 in our Camping Village.
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
On site we have both indoor and outdoor classroom facilities.
Is there first aid on site?
We have trained first aiders on site during the day time.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
Some facilities on offer.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
