green tick Physical Education School Trip

Climbing Canoeing Orienteering Archery Kayaking Gorge Walking

With all our activities come some sort of Physical Education. Whether it's running around finding orienteering points in the woods, paddling in canoes and kayaks, climbing up real rock faces, or walking through the gorge and swimming under waterfalls.

green tick Wildlife School Trip

We love wildlife here! We have both the woodland and the estuary to enjoy so there is always lots to learn. From foxes, badgers and garden birds to mink, fish, birds on the water and the occasional otter! We have many who visit and nest at the harbour annually which is always a great opportunity to teach.

green tick Bushcraft School Trip

We run Wilderness Skills activities where you will learn how to filter water from a stream, make fires safely using flint and steel, build suitable shelters for surviving in the wilderness as well as enjoying a hot chocolate from the water collected!

green tick Team Building School Trip

Various activities we offer require team building - particularly raft building and initiative games. Learning to tie knots and paddle a raft in an attempt to stay dry on the water in raft building, and working together to solve tasks using your initiative.

What size groups do we cater for?

Our residential centre sleeps 49 people. Room sizes vary from two to six people and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities. We have got an exciting development project in the works which will mean we can take larger groups. Whilst we aren't taking bookings for this at the moment, we can add you to the waiting list!

On-site classroom facilities?

Our Bryn y Moel site (the residential centre) is set in 11 acres of woodland with an outdoor sports court available. It has a lounge, small games room and dining room. It's just a 15 walk away from our site at Pensarn Harbour, and then a further 15 minute walk along the estuary to get to the beach. This centre also has a large lounge/dining room which groups are welcome to use.

Is there first aid on site?

All our staff hold a minimum 16 hour appropriate First Aid qualification.

Access for visitors with disabilities

We have disabled access accommodation, including a wet room en-suite. For activities, we have a wheelchair accessible pontoon area. Having catered for many guests with a wide range of disabilities, we can offer specialised one to one instructional care, if appropriate, and will structure sessions to include each and every child.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Yes, we cater for both adults and children with special needs and have several groups who use us specifically for those with learning difficulties. Our activity sessions are run on a needs-based assessment of each participant and the instructor will tailor the session to what is most appropriate for all.

Anything else?

Our on-site staff are available from 7am to 10:30pm and for the hours out of that time, there will be a Duty member of staff on call. We have WiFi available for our guests on both sites, as well as keypad entry.

CMC stands for the Christian Mountain Centre and all our staff are committed Christians. If you would like us to share some of our experiences we would be more than happy to do so in the form of a short testimony, thought for the day or question and answer session for your group.

Who are CMC Adventure?

We run tailor made residential experiences designed to inspire and challenge your students and provide them with the opportunity for life-long learning.
