Physical Education is the cornerstone of all we do. All our activities are outside and get kids moving and learning how to safely exercise, whatever their starting point. For many who are used to a lot of indoors and screen time, the opportunity to be immersed in nature can be the catalyst they need to truly discover the joys of manipulating the environment with their bodes, developing strength and resilience along the way.Curriculum topics available: SUP Stand Up Paddleboarding, Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Raft Building, Windsurfing, Power Boating.
Over 35 years ago, the Galloway Activity Centre (then the Galloway Sailing Centre!) started out as a small sailing and paddle sports school on Loch Ken. A lot has changed since then but our biggest passion is still getting people of all ages and from all walks of life out onto the water. Our instructors are trained to deliver the Royal Yachting Association syllabus in Windsurfing, Sailing and Powerboating and the British Canoe Union/Scottish Canoe Association syllabus in paddlesports training. Everyone that visits gets an opportunity to challenge themselves on the water.Yes We certainly can. Please use the form below to let us know your group's specific SEN requirements and we will get back to you with more information on how we can tailor our learning experience for your children.
There's a range of exciting and challenging activities available at Galloway Activity Centre, all set in the heart of Scotland and only a short drive from the M74. We're an AALA licensed and RYA training centre and are committed to providing safe, fun and engaging activities.
As well as exciting activities we also offer national governing body certificated tuition in sailing, windsurfing and paddle sports. Many schools opt to incorporate this in a residential week so pupils can not only enjoy an exciting adventure week but leave having learned a new sport.
We have a large selection of eclectic accommodation including a bunkhouse, loch side cabins, Mongolian yurts and a large camping ground for Scouting groups. Meals are provided from our Waterfront Café overlooking Loch Ken.
Whether you're looking for a short team building visit, an exciting activity day or a full week of residential adventure then we're sure to have a package that suits your needs.
